Breast Cancer, Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s, Oh My!

Leaving my secure Corporate America job in 2008 to pursue an education in Esthetics, I must be crazy! At least that’s what people were telling me. Afterall, “The Crash heard round the world” was about to happen. And, as folks were losing their life savings and homes, I began attending Esthetic school full-time while working two part-time jobs. I didn’t realize at that time what my education and faith in God would ultimately lead me to do…

A few years after opening my Esthetic Practice, two of my dear neighbors were diagnosed with breast cancer. With rumors circulating that Aluminum from Deodorants could be the culprit, I set out to find an aluminum-free deodorant…and I did! Problem was, it/they (I won’t name names) didn’t work. Either I was sweaty but didn’t have any odor or had odor but was dry. So, being educated in the structure and function of skin as well as skin care ingredients, I decided to create my own.

And, without getting too scienc-y on you, just know that our skin is like a sponge. It can absorb not only rays of light, (think UV light, Laser light, Infrared etc.) but also topical solutions (both good and bad) if the molecule is small enough. In fact, some Nanoparticles can bypass the Blood-Brain Barrier, which can negatively affect cellular function and brain health. And this my friends, is where aluminum comes in.

You see, many breast cancers (my two friends included) develop in the upper, outer region of the breast; the area near our underarms. Coincidence? And, when researching Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease I dove down a very deep rabbit hole, one that left me scratching my head over what some scientists had discovered.

Several scientists claim to have discovered excess Aluminum in the brains of those individuals that had passed away from AD and PD! Again, our underarm area is not that far away from our brains. This information was a game-changer for me and truly pushed me to bring my Underarm Deodorant Granules to Market. And I’m sure you’ve been asking the question as to why put Aluminum in Deodorant to begin with? For that, read the next Blog Post titled; “To Sweat or Not to Sweat. THAT is the Question”.

To close, let me say that no one should have to watch their friends or family members pass away slowly due to Cancer or a “potentially preventable” neurological disease. It is absolutely horrific to witness this. Having said that, let me be clear. I am not in any way stating that using my Underarm Deodorant Granules will prevent you from getting these diseases. But I certainly think that using less Aluminum-based products on our skin might lessen our chances. Don’t you?
